App is damaged and can't be opened

If you try to run "Watch My Logs!" for the first time, you will see the following error:

"Watch My Logs.app" is damaged and can't be opened.

This happens because every App must be notarized by Apple. "Watch My Logs!" is not notarized.

Unfortunately, I can't notarize my App. My dev account was blocked from notarization, and support didn't do anything to help me out.

The only way to run "Watch My Logs!" is to accomplish the following steps before the first run:

  1. Download dmg file and run it.
  2. Copy "Watch My Logs.app" to the Applications folder.
  3. Run the following command in terminal: xattr -d com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Watch My Logs.app"
  4. Find "Watch My Logs.app" in the Applications folder, right click on it and choose "Open" in the context menu.
  5. That's all. Next time you can run the app as usual.
